Enric Majoral

ABOUT THE ARTIST

“Spaniard Enric Majoral was born in 1949 and at the age of 23 began his life-long exploration of jewelry. His most personal work is creative, neither confined nor complicated by techniques or materials. Starting from the basis of intuition and experimentation as a working method he creates conceptually daring and innovative pieces which are in turn essentially modern.

“Majoral conceived of jewelry as a means of expression and as a world-view. Experience, nature, his own roots and memories of place are the source of his work. And work and life are inseparable. His unique pieces are shown in specialist art galleries.”

ABOUT MAJORAL

“Majoral is a family business. Enric Majoral designs all the pieces with his son, Roc and Abril Ribera.

“The Collections derive from Enric’s most personal work and are crafted in their own workshops always exacting the highest working methods.

“Through Majoral we can understand jewelry as an element for both expression of a personal image or as a symbol of contemporary culture. We create small artistic objects that then become jewels to be worn on the skin. Majoral is obsessed with bringing out the beauty of form, with the assurance that this beauty makes sense when worn, seducing one, revealing all its symbolism. This is jewelry which always suggests the island of Formentera for us. “
