Patina Gallery 2012 Exhibition Schedule
..........................................................................................................................
Santa Fe's Patina Gallery, one of the world's premiere venues for contemporary art jewelry and fine craft, is pleased to announce its 2012 exhibition calendar. Considered by many to be the most beautiful gallery in Santa Fe, Patina presents soul stirring contemporary works in the context of a city over four hundred years old.
JULY
July 13 - August 5, Myung Urso "Line + Brush"
The calendar begins in mid-July when Patina opens Line + Brush, an exhibit of art jewelry from acclaimed artist, Myung Urso, whose award winning works blend the ancient, aesthetic traditions of her native South Korea with a distinctly contemporary sensibility. The event is scheduled to coincide with the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market.
AUGUST
August 3 - 26,
Erich Zimmermann
Claude Chavent
"Form + Function"
In early August, Patina brings two prominent European artists to Santa Fe for an exhibition of highly contemporary studio jewelry. Erich Zimmermann's voluminous, hand-forged precious metal works counterpoint the trompe l'oeil dimensionality of Claude Chavent's. The exhibit, entitled Form + Function, coincides with SOFA West, returning to Santa Fe for a fourth year.
August 10 - September 2, Claire Kahn "Pattern + Flow"
Later in August, Claire Kahn returns for her second Patina exhibition of crochet beaded necklaces. Incorporating precious gems like diamonds and tourmalines, Kahn's intricately patterned works have thrilled Patina clients. Pattern + Flow is scheduled in conjunction with Santa Fe's world famous Indian Market.
SEPTEMBER
September 21 - October 14, Sheryl Zacharia "Speaking of Klee"
Patina partners with the organizers of the 45th General Assembly of the International Academy of Ceramics to host a special exhibition of works in clay by ten guest artists. This is the first time the biennial event will be held in Santa Fe and just the second time that the conference has been held in the United States, since its inception in 1952. Concurrent with the General Assembly, Patina opens Speaking of Klee, an exhibit of works in clay by artist Sheryl Zacharia. The forms and surface of her work are inspired by a love for ancient relics and modern abstract painting.
DECEMBER
December 7 - January 6, 2013, Enric Majoral "Miraculous"
Finally, art jewelry master Enric Majoral travels from Barcelona for Miraculous, an exhibition of his masterwork jewelry in brushed silver and 18k gold. Majoral's luminous works are sure to brighten and warm the holidays for Santa Fe's winter guests.
