Sterling silver, 22K and 18K yellow gold, Mabé pearls, diamonds vsi 0.10 ctw, palladium, platinum, Kenyan ruby 4.10 ctw
A medley of sumptuous delectation emulates full, effulgent glory in this work by artist, Peter Schmid of Atelier Zobel. Born of various precious metals, Schmid outdoes himself with his brilliant knowledge of alchemy to cultivate exquisite, one-of-a-kind adornment. Sterling silver collides with palladium, platinum and gold to achieve complex and heightened design. Reminiscent of the high priestess, Leila from Georges Bizet's opera, The Pearl Fishers, Schmid's piece elevates her likeness in shapely color and proportion. As if a crown atop her brow, he sculpts a regal shape, altogether graced with the flow of sparkling brown diamonds. Positioned just below is a lustrous deep ruby jewel encased in high karat gold. Gazing further to the base of the work is home to a luminous Mabé pearl. Capturing the beguiling allure of the island and the vivacious effervescence of our heroine, the maker beautifully illustrates its sheer opulence to his usual, radiant measure.
