Long Same Origin Brooch

Born from her Same Origin collection, artist Susanne Elstner imagines two diverse materials grown from the same stalk together once again in a palpable composition of adornment. Smooth, translucent pieces of amber are delicately pieced together the bear their organic delectability. Hues of orange and umber joyously dance as they gleam in the light. Adjoined to their fitful body is a portion of milky black charcoal. The capricious surfaces admiringly handle the touch of the maker as their jarring edges harness the character of its origin, yet have masterfully been finished to remain composed against wear. Its color and peculiar surface delight the eye as they compliment the larger work at hand. Striking shape and proportion illuminate its beholder. With a slight pinch of the needles, they are released from their clasps for simple fitting. Elstner creates a dynamic work prepared to stir our curiosity and fascination.
