Oxidized sterling silver, 18K, 22K, 24K yellow gold, aquamarine 84.19 cts, 64 white (G) diamonds, vsi 0.64 cts total weight
Skillfully, Peter Schmid sculpts an asymmetrical shape of oxidized silver creating a rich and smooth form. Along its surface, he draws patterns of imperfect hexagons fused in high karat gold. Shifting the eye, he sprinkles white diamonds throughout. At its top, a lustrous aquamarine emerges. With every movement, the translucent gem reflects mesmerizing hues of pale blues while the pattern shines from behind. Crafted with versatile perfection, Schmid's pendant may be worn with the bails adhered to the back of the piece or may be adhered to a chain or cable. This is quite a piece to treasure forever.
Schmid’s opulent beehive collection originated from a collaboration with the Max Planck Institute at Konstanz University on swarm behavioral intelligence. This work of art is a testament to the artist’s devoted love of nature and pattern.
