Lightening Ridge Australian opals, 14k yellow gold

The lost of art of hand-rolling beads is exemplified in this stunning opal necklace by Native American artist, Michael Kirk.  Each opal bead is delicately rolled by hand to create this graduated, double strand necklace.

Michael Kirk is an internationally renowned jewelry artist of Isleta Pueblo and Navajo descent. He is known for his high end and one-of-a-kind gold and silver jewelry pieces that use precious and semi-precious gemstones of the highest quality. Kirk has been creating pieces since 1971. He is seen as a pioneer in the Native American jewelry world for his use of gold and rare technique.

Kirk creates pieces using a variety of traditional techniques, including the nearly lost art of hand-rolled bead making.
