"In the winter of 2020 or 2021 I stood outside on a cold day waiting for the museum to reopen after several months of being closed. I spent the next several hours wandering the rooms of the museum, virtually having the entire place to myself. Many of the exhibits are dimly lit to preserve the antiquities from too much light. I learned that day not to take the delights of our city for granted. Santa Fe was and is a mecca for all of us. Our history is deep and wide. There is no other place like the City Different. This day was a reminder of this, of which I told myself I would never forget." - Ivan Barnett
