Sterling silver, 18K & 24K yellow gold, spectrolite
Amassing a miniature sculpture in sterling silver, master maker, Harold O'Connor, imagines an opulent topography at its core that beckons our intrigue and curiosity. Imbuing its form with high karat gold, Harold carefully adheres tiny, gold granules that are left to trail upon its intimate terrain. Then, the artist hammers the surface. Shape of the pendant's interior extremities are coalesced together as one form, one atmosphere that plays with the eye and with the mind that studies its eccentricities. An impression of this silver plane gives way to a river of gold, energizing the soul as it rushes out to the perimeter of the piece. As a perfect balance to the vivacity of this composition, Harold positions a piece of glistening spectrolite on the side of this silver frame. Finely cradled in the possession of gold, one cannot help but admire as greens and blues strikingly glide across its surface, almost to touch what lies outside.
