"Early in my career, I did not think much about titles, but about five years ago, I started to really think about the beautiful effect titles can have to forward my point of view. A single title does not define my perspective, but collectively, the titles in a body of work begin to paint a poetic picture in words. Making art along with many deep practices offers moments when one is free of thoughts. In these moments, I am responding in the moment to the unexpected dancing with creation. I feel ahead of myself exploring something new, advancing my possibility. This image was made in Florence, Italy. I loved the lone figure emerging from the shadows with the hint of a pair of figures following in the shadows. There is a beauty of being out front, ahead of these lurking thoughts." - Sol Hill
