Little Wonders of Adornment

Kayo Saito’s imagination is spurred to life in the joy of observing our natural world. With sterling silver, high karat gold and gems, she illustrates the radiance of organic forms.

“I cherish the ‘little wonders’ that nature throws our way. It could be young leaves sprouting, the scent of opening buds... I design and make jewelry to reconnect us back to nature...  Kayo Saito

Born in Yokohama, Japan, Saito studied craft design and metal work at the Japanese Art College in Tokyo. She finished her studies, earning her masters from the Royal College of Art in 2001.

Saito has won several awards in jewelry, notably shortlisted for the United Kingdom’s Art Foundation Awards in 2010. Her work is praised in the UK, and spans across Europe, the United States and Japan.

In earrings and necklaces for Patina, she infuses her narrative and creative energy into each detail, texture and shape. A piece of jewelry becomes an intricate sculpture on the body. Once worn, her precious structures feel alive as rhythm and movement nearly tease the eye, alluding back to her passion, inspiration and exquisite discernment of design.
