Jeff & Susan Wise
A dazzling interplay of color and form
Working in a shared studio in Durango, Colorado, Jeff Wise sculpts, his wife Susan paints, and they collaborate on jewelry, which uses their gifts for structure and color in thrilling, new ways. Their pieces seem freeform, forged by the wind, yet each is a unique and purposeful statement of shape and color.
Playful. Tactile. Kinetic. These are words used by those who are lucky enough to wear these pieces.
Forged shanks, inlaid stones, and movement that’s built in—all of these elements create jewelry that’s as exciting to wear as it is to see.
These are structural works for the body, true talismans. 18-karat gold is combined with parrot wing agate, deep green tsavorite garnets, white coral, and black jade. When a clasp is required, it’s incorporated into the piece, hidden, to create an unbroken, fluid sense of design.
