Introducing The Claire Kahn,
Small Collection Series
The latest chapter is Moon River, shown below. Along with the first three chapters of the Series: Edible, Doppler & Solid Stone.
In celebration of Claire Kahn’s 10th anniversary at Patina Gallery, the artist unveils her Small Collections Series. An artful exploration of thematic, series works are exclusively presented in a finite selection; prepared to delight and surprise throughout the year.
“In the process of exploring an idea, or theme, I develop variations through changes in color, pattern and progression. The result is a series of pieces that are meant to be enjoyed, either individually or as a collection. Each three to six piece series is distinct, unique, and ultimately connected by a union of visual inspiration”
In her latest series of works, Moon River, Kahn’s beaded necklaces and bracelets parallel the brilliance of the moon while its reflection sails the tides of water. Pattern and progression follow a muse of ripples and reflected undulation, as moon glow bounces amongst the mysterious scene of night .
“Some of my work is kinetic. In water, patterns and the transitions between them are developed through movement and choreography. In bead crochet, patterns are linear and progress along a beaded cord”
