Translating Prehistoric Eminence into Contemporary Art
“My unique, handcrafted creations are produced in Istanbul, Turkey and the workmanship draws inspiration from prehistoric civilizations.”
Offering contemporary style with ancient craftsmanship, maker Fatih Yazicioglu creates an assemblage of rich gold and silver jewelry using the traditional techniques of the ancient Anatolia Peninsula.
Going back to as early as the Neolithic period (8000–5500 B.C.), the Anatolian legacy lives on today in Istanbul. Yazicioglu takes inspiration of art and history from the east, spanning as far as Byzantium to that of the Hellenic Republic, who lived in rebellion against the Ottoman Empire within the Pontus Mountains. Utilizing an array of cultural motifs, Fatih illustrates work of both aesthetic and historic eminence. In turn, each piece carries a compelling story with that of beautiful and exotic intrigue.
