A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Santa Fe Opera’s Apprentice Program for Theater Technicians.

The artist’s emotive and exotic jewels have captivated collectors worldwide. For over 20 years, Allison and Ivan have continued to adore Schmid’s level of craftsmanship, design and alchemic understanding of precious materials that allow him to create dramatically beautiful works of art.

Capturing the joy and jest of this Athenian classic, Schmid composes a cast of lustrous characters, made and imagined for the body. A grand necklace, to the esteem of Queen Titania, is shaped in silver and gold, sprinkled with diamonds and Munsteiner cut tourmalines. Birds, butterflies and beetles are adorned in precious attire and embellished with rich and pastel-laden gemstones. Luscious wings and whimsical forms gracefully move with expert precision and emotion, transporting the spirit to the magical forest of Shakespeare’s masterpiece.

Watch the Mindful Meditation to accompany the exhibition

Explore works of art infused with romantic intrigue and artful odes to New Mexico’s own delightsome summer air, as Schmid leads our wandering eyes into the mystical world of our most beautiful fantasies.

Are you sure that we are awake? It seems to me that yet we sleep, we dream.”
William Shakespeare (Demetrius, Act 4 Scene 1)
