Winter meditations on light & touch
With a collection of carefully curated new works, Patina Gallery takes you to a meditative state that is mid-winter in Santa Fe – the peaceful kind of quiet that comes with a snowy walk in the woods.
Allison and Ivan Barnett of Patina Gallery proudly present Silver & White, an exhibition the promises to arouse the sensations of this calming and soothing season. Silver & White opens at Patina on Friday, January 19, 2018, and continues until February 18.
“This is a special time of year, with piñon crackling in the kiva, low angles of the sun and snow caps on the Sangres,” says Ivan Barnett of Patina. “We invite collectors to linger and explore Silver & White and draw in the inspiration from great art.”
This artfully curated collection features works of contemporary art, jewelry and sculpture, and each piece has references to hi-tech silkiness of silver or unpretentious purity of white.
Included in the exhibition are the brushed belt buckles in oxidized silver by master silversmith Michael Jerry, the haunting abstract paintings of Maude Andrade, the graceful lightness of Erich Zimmermann jewelry and the meditative black-on-white porcelain sculpture of Harris Deller.
