“When the right person is on a bike, you can see and feel this strong, synergistic relationship between human and machine. The same with cars. When driven, the way that a car performs is so organic. That fluid movement is beautiful. There is an effortless beauty between the driver and the vehicle”

Michael Furman

Patina Gallery is proud to present Street Blue, an exhibition and book signing by world-renowned automobile photographer Michael Furman. Adding to the excitement, car enthusiast John Paul Gonzales will present a curation of up to 20 exceptional, unusual and rare models—all blue—parked along West Palace Avenue.

Join us in celebration with a street-wide event and artist’s reception.

“[There are] limitless possibilities to relate the many facets of automotive experience and inspire the next generation”
Michael Furman

Michael Furman has captured the world’s most significant cars with his lens for over 35 years. His ability to place cars in the best possible light — literally and figuratively — is his signature. Furman tells the story from the perspective of designers and engineers —in response to the social and political contexts in which they worked, idealized the cars of the future.

“I’m not as knowledgeable as one might think about horsepower, how engines work, all the different models, nomenclature, and things of that nature, but when it comes to looking at a car and assessing its aesthetics, its proportions, the shapes of things, and how things look from a graphic point of view, that’s what I do”
Michael Furman

This will be Furman’s fourth exhibition at Patina

The first being Alfa Portraits in 2016.

Porsche Portraits was his second—inspired by the long-lived quality, craftsmanship and legacy of the Porsche automobile.

Badass, Furman’s third, was curated from the book of the same title by Bruce Meyer and John Nikas featuring his fine and innovative photography of classic automobile rear ends.
