An alluring composition, this classic Lucia Antonelli necklace, circa 1987, began with an antique Victorian button centerpiece, backed with leather, and stitched in place with a lazy stitch of vintage black Czech glass, sterling silver and brass beads, with garnets. 

The antique French brass beads were given new life, taken from an antique evening purse circa late 1800's. With the creative genius of the artist, the composition sprang anew, with multiple strands rounding the neck and gracefully falling as tassels of beads upon the chest.
