Paper, cotton mat board, conservation clear acrylic, painted white wood frame
Made of multiple layers of patterned vellum laminated between clear acrylic, the piece lets light pass through densities that shift from layer to layer, creating gradual progressions from light to dark. Less formally geometric than the other paper cuts in the exhibition, there is a sense of ascension in this piece. At the end of each line sits a circle, a small opening where light can enter and gather. Hang one in a window or any place where it can catch the sun or a soft glow. It can also rest closer to a wall, holding its own quiet shimmer. For ideas on how to display it in your space, please contact the gallery.
