Ink on paper, cotton mat board, black walnut frame
This piece feels like an aerial view of a place that exists only in the mind, where color and form move between complexity and calm. Kahn took delight in how ink gathered in small puddles at the end of each gesture, as if the mark itself were settling into the surface. She created topography through subtle shifts in height, light, and shadow, letting imagined landscapes emerge. The differing shapes and colors here echo that quiet sense of terrain. Made with ink and graphite on paper, it is mounted on cotton mat board and framed in painted white wood.
