Michael Furman’s Giclée prints (or what is referred to as archival pigment prints) were produced on an Epson 9000 using Ultrachrome archival, pigmented ink - 10 colors

"This is a custom made street rod. I first saw this car out in California, in Carmel by the Sea. Each year, I give out an award to the car I’d love to photograph, and for some reason, I never saw this car until it received another award. When I saw it, I went, ‘I want to photograph that car! That’s fabulous.’ Turns out the man who redid the car is from New Jersey, which is not far from me. I made acquaintance with him, he’s great. He’s fabulously talented, skilled and capable. He brought the car for me to photograph. It is a handsome car, remade in the last three years. It has won the award for closed cars. The body comes over, covers the wheels. For the front wheels, the wheels have to turn, so when they do, either the front of the car is really big so the wheels can turn inside the envelope, or the skirt covering the wheels has to turn as well. There’s a button to press on the headlight, it pops open, you reach inside and there’s another button to disengage the skirt on the front wheels to change the tire. There’s no door handle, so you have to rub your hand on the side where sensors open the door. It is a completely custom car, beautiful, and there is none other like it in the world..." - Michael Furman
