6-6 Series, Encaustic Monotype, wax, paper on freestanding wooden frame
Using careful thought and precision, Suzy Wahl creates an artful assemblage of encaustic monotypes. Using a warmed glass plate, she draws her composition with the use of colored wax. With satisfaction, she presses strong paper onto its waxen surface to reveal a mirror image of her mind's intention. Creating pieces of art with unique, compelling personality.
Soft, yellow skyline floats over a sullen pond patinated by the sun's warm veneer. Upon the horizon line, light, neutral blemishes play upon the cadmium arena as if they were tired clouds from a day's glide in the sky, or that of burnished mountains, teased by the cheerful reflections upon the calm water. Whatever imagined, Wahl creates a landscape full of curiosity and intrigue. Discover your world through her unique, artistic eye.
