"Out of nowhere, dragons began appearing in my awareness at the end of 2023. I didn’t realize it was the Year of the Dragon until Chinese New Year arrived in 2024. When a symbol keeps showing up, I pay attention. Scott agreed to carve two dragons, and they sat quietly for months while I read dragon tales, absorbing their lore. Nearly a year later, I felt called to bead one. I was emerging from a five-year creative silence, shadowed by loss and the weight of COVID. Beading her began with anxiety—but I called on dragon energy, and it answered. She needed to be white. Her eyes came first. They told me she was ready. The process took half a year. She led. I followed. Fierce and sovereign, Dragoness shaped herself through my hands. This wasn’t just creativity—it was communion with something ancient, wild, and deeply feminine. She chose me. I listened."
