Texture lies at the heart of Kraft’s work. Favoring earthenware, he hand-builds each piece through coiling or slab construction, embracing the subtle irregularities that reveal the maker’s touch. Rather than polishing away imperfection, he allows it to remain—each surface a quiet testament to process. His finishes—earthy, burnished hues, smoky blacks, and oxide-kissed whites—recall ancient remnants unearthed from timeworn ruins. These are not merely objects to observe, but to feel: vessels of tactile poetry where form and surface coalesce. Kraft invites us to engage through the senses, where texture becomes memory, and each mark carries the weight of quiet history.
